I’ve been fascinated watching TV series in my free time, though with my busy schedule, I opted to watch it online.
Last week, I have a chance to watch one of the episode of GMA 7’s newest drama series “Mga Basang Sisiw”. In case you didn’t know, the said TV series was inspired by the 1981 blockbuster film Mga Basang Sisiw, and GMA did a remake of the well-loved Agustin dela Cruz film.
During the blogcon of the said TV series, one of the leading star of “Mga Basang Sisiw”, Ms. Maxene Magalona who played the role of Vicky said, “Maraming twists and turns na mangyayari sa show na ito kasi it’s not your usual show na may kontrabida, may bida, tapos mananalo yung bida. It’s an ensemble cast and lahat ng characters sa show na ‘to importante.”
It was Maxene’s first role as a kontrabida. According to her, she don’t want to be typecast as a villain and she was challenge on her role for “Mga Basang Sisiw”.
Maxene is one of the most talented young actress in the showbiz industry. And all I can say is that she is a great kontrabida and I think she will have more projects after this dramaserye.
Bianca Umali played the role of Faye in “Mga Basang Sisiw” |
On working with director Ricky Davao: He is a hands on director. We’re grateful of having him on “Mga Basang Sisiw” |
Bianca Umali and Renz Valerio played Froilan Santos’ kids, Faye and Justin in “Mga Basang Sisiw” |
When Umali and co-star Renz Valerio were asked on how they handled their studies, aside from the fact that they’re shooting “Mga Basang Sisiw” almost everyday. Umali said that she is currently enrolled in a home school program and she brought her manual on the set. Meanwhile, Valerio is studying in St.Claire School in Antipolo, and he juggled his time working and doing his assignments in school.
Other stars in this TV series are Lani Mercado, Raymond Bagatsing, Gardo Versoza, Caridad Sanchez, Maricris Garcia with Mike Tan, featuring Kimberly Faye, Hershey Garcia, and Miko Zarsadias.
Under the helm of director Mr. Ricky Davao, “Mga Basang Sisiw” is a must watch TV series because I want to see on how the five siblings – Justin, Faye, Shine, Cha and Mickey and their painful journey to rebuild their once happy family. And of course, I want to see Vicky on why is behaving that way towards the five children of Froilan (played by Raymond Bagatsing).
Don’t fail to watch “Mga Basang Sisiw”, Monday to Friday right after Eat Bulaga on GMA Afternoon Prime block.
