Habitat for Humanity Philippines will host its fifth annual Habitat Youth Build tomorrow, March 21, 2015. There will be also simultaneous activities in 15 other countries across the Asia-Pacific region.
This initiative aims to bring together participants to build or repair homes, and take part in other mass-participation activities to draw attention to the global housing crisis.
Meanwhile, there will be nationwide activities at following Habitat sites:
- Pinamalayan, Mindoro (main event)
- Bistekville 4, Quezon City
- Tanza, Navotas City
- Maricaban, Bantayan, Cebu
- Sulangan, Bantayan, Cebu
- Paypay, Daanbantayan, Cebu
- Cagayan de Oro
- Davao
- General Santos
With over four million homeless families in the Philippines alone, and 1.6 billion people globally, living without adequate shelter, the campaign aims to mobilize volunteers and recruit supporters to raise funds, construct and repair homes, and advocate the cause; that everyone may have a decent, affordable and safe place to live.
Not only can you volunteer at one of the above sites, but you can also use your voice to make an impact and become a catalyst for poverty alleviation.
